Another boost for García Luna
Marisela Morales, the Procuradora General de la República (PGR or attorney general), announced on 1 August that in 21 of the country’s 32 districts (31 states plus the federal district), the top PGR official had resigned as part of her efforts to purge the PGR. Another three state representatives of the PGR resigned in the run-up to her announcement. The PGR brings criminal cases to court.
