PERU: Army & Sendero clash in Junín
The long silence regarding the army's counter-insurgency operations
against the guerrillas of Sendero Luminoso (SL) was broken last week
with a report on a clash that killed two senderistas and gravely injured an
army lieutenant. The confrontation took place near Santo Domingo de
Acobamba, in the central Andean department of Junín.
