Electoral transparency concerns in Nicaragua

Development: On 20 September Roberto Rivas, the president of the supreme electoral council (CSE), said that of the local political parties only the ruling Frente Sandinista de Liberación Nacional (FSLN) and its ally, the lesser opposition Alianza Liberal Nicaragüense (ALN), would be able to send observer delegates to the country’s 13,000 polling stations for the 6 November general election.
