MEXICO: PAN makes a choice
Mexico’s political parties must tell the Instituto Federal Electoral (IFE) by 22 October how they will choose their presidential candidates. The ruling Partido Acción Nacional (PAN) was the latest to make an announcement on 18 October, saying that it had decided that its presidential candidate would be chosen by party supporters only. All the parties have to choose their presidential candidates by 22 February 2012.
