The US, Guatemala and Nicaragua

On 6 November Guatemala will choose either Otto Pérez Molina or Manuel Baldizón as its next president. On the same day Nicaragua, almost certainly, will re-elect President Daniel Ortega for another five year term. What both elections illustrate, albeit in different ways, is how the US’s strategy to Central America is evolving.
