PARAGUAY: Frente Guasú is open to alliances (in principle)

Paraguay’s next presidential election may be over a year away, but the left-wing Frente Guasú (FG) coalition, which groups 19 political parties and movements, has already decided that it will table its own candidate. The FG, however, has formally stated that it is open to alliances and is prepared to hold talks with all political parties. The FG made this decision at its 13 November plenary meeting, which President Fernando Lugo did not attend.
