BRAZIL: Rousseff’s green credentials on the line again

International NGOs including Greenpeace and the World Wide Fund for Nature led large protests outside federal buildings in Brasília this week in protest at controversial revisions to the country’s forestry code that Greenpeace says “will condemn the Amazon rainforest”.  President Dilma Rousseff, who is a strong advocate of sustainable economic development in the Amazon region, is viewed with suspicion by environmentalists.
