Calderón sets off political row

Development: On 23 February businessmen who attended an event organised by Banamex, Mexico’s biggest commercial bank, revealed to the press that President Felipe Calderón had told them that Josefina Vázquez Mota, the presidential candidate for the ruling Partido Acción Nacional (PAN), is now between six and four percentage points behind the long-time leader, Enrique Peña Nieto of the traditional Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI).
