Chile | Talks in Aysén suspended. On 29 February Chile’s energy minister, Rodrigo Alvarez, decided to suspend negotiations with protesters in the Aysén region until the latter agreed to the government’s demand of ending blockades set up at key roads providing access to the region. According to press reports, Alvarez, who arrived in Aysén the previous day, suspended the meeting until today (1 March) to allow protestors to reconsider their stance.
