In Brief – Peru & Venezuela

Peru| Textile sector recovery. On 27 March Peru’s exporters’ association (Adex) revealed that Peruvian textile and clothing exports in January 2012 reached US$168.1m, a 44% year-on-year increase. According to Adex, the sector is slowly recovering from the 2008-2009 global economic crisis although it still faces an uncertain future. Adex highlighted the slow recovery of the US while in Venezuela, export levels have yet to reach those of 2008.
