Fernández condemns attacks on British embassy. On 4 April Argentina’s President Cristina Fernández condemned attacks led by small, extremist left-wing groups against the UK embassy in Buenos Aires on 2 April, the 30th anniversary of the Argentine landing on the Malvinas/Falklands archipelago. Fernández stated that she did not believe that the “burning of flags” had any political value and that protesters should have “raised our country’s [the flag]…you don’t have to burn anyone’s flag to demonstrate you are Argentine”.
