Brazil | iPad - ‘made in Brazil’. Foxconn is finally producing the Apple iPad at its factory in Jundiaí, according to the daily O Globo. The company hired 1,100 workers in March for production training. The 16GB iPad 2 and the iPhone 4 will be produced at the plant for sale in Brazil.  According to O Globo, the iPad 2 will retail locally at below the R$1,399 (US$762) price currently advertised on the official Apple site. There is no Apple Store in Brazil; the former CEO, Steve Jobs, complained about the high cost of setting up and operating in the country. The iPad 3 was launched globally in March, but will not yet be assembled in Brazil. Foxconn receives production tax incentives in Brazil.
