Bolivia sets a new deadline

Development: On 25 April Bolivia’s minister of the presidency, Juan Ramón Quintana, said that the government had submitted a formal request to the legislature to extend the deadline to begin carrying out a consulta - (public consultation process) so residents of the local indigenous territory and national park Isiboro Sécure (Tipnis) can decide whether a proposed road should go ahead – from 120 days to 210 days.
