Development: On 25 April efforts by the Haitian government of President Michel Martelly to begin the process of compensating veterans failed to demobilise a group of some 3,500 former soldiers and hopeful recruits who have occupied military barracks, calling for Martelly to make good on his promise to reinstate the military (FAd'H) which was disbanded in 1995.
