POLITICS | Alicia Kirchner accused of political discrimination. The left-wing grassroots political organisation Barrios de Pie announced on 23 May that it will file a formal complaint against Minister of Social Development Alicia Kirchner before the anti-discrimination national institute (Inadi) for political discrimination. According to the group, the ministry has stopped sending food and financial assistance to some 1,000 community kitchens that denounced clientelism in the distribution of the Argentina Trabaja programme that gives financial support to cooperatives. The group had already stated these complaints before congress last week, which prompted a request of the submission of formal reports by the ministry to the legislature. Barrios de Pie will lead a protest march to the Inadi today (24 May).
