Garzón moved to ICU. On 18 June the office of the Colombian vice-presidency issued a communiqué confirming that Vice-President Angelino Garzón remained hospitalised after being admitted to the Reina Sofía clinic in Bogotá late last week (14 June). Although he was expected to be released today (19 June), yesterday he was transferred to the intensive care unit (ICU) - off the record, the local media has reported that he has apparently suffered a “cerebral vascular accident” (CVA). The communiqué stated that following several studies, the medical team “determined the need to monitor him permanently and carry out more studies”, the reason why “Garzón will remain hospitalised in the intensive care unit”. Over the weekend, President Juan Manuel Santos asked the Lord of Miracles of Buga, the city where Garzón is from, for his vice-president’s full recovery.
