VENEZUELA | Government sets price reporting deadline. Venezuela’s consumer defence office (Indepabis) announced on 2 July that establishments that sell food and drink have until 18 July to inform Indepabis of their prices. According to the “costs and fair prices law” in effect since November last year, all traders must register with the Indepabis and inform it of its prices so that these may be scrutinised in a bid to control price speculation which the government blames for high levels of inflation.
