Cuban dissidents reject “excessive” treatment

Development: On 16 August Cuban dissidents, led by Elizardo Sánchez of the Cuban Commission for Human Rights and National Reconciliation, rejected as excessive a request by Cuban prosecutors to seek a seven-year jail sentence for the Spanish political activist Angel Carromero, on charges of involuntary manslaughter in relation to the deaths of two Cuban dissidents, Oswaldo Paya and Harold Cepero.
