Sicilia takes peace message north of the Rio Grande

Mexico’s influential poet and peace activist Javier Sicilia is criss-crossing the US at the head of a “peace caravan”. Sicilia’s month-long peripatetic tour of the US began on 12 August in San Diego in southern California. The caravan will wend its way to 25 cities in the US before arriving in Washington DC on 10 September. The main message is that the anti-drug policy pursued in both the US and Mexico is fundamentally misguided and requires a complete overhaul.
