Economic performance continues to surprise

The still uncertain global economic environment may be negatively affecting some of the larger Latin American economies, but Chile continues to post strong numbers, well above forecasts. This growth is being driven by stronger-than-expected domestic demand; but there is also evidence that despite adverse global conditions Chilean exports have also remained strong. The government boasts that the country’s competitive and diverse export offer will ensure Chile’s stable and sustainable economic development in the medium and long term.
