Mexico claims “no net” emigration to US

On 11 July, the deputy interior minister, René Martín Zenteno, responsible for demographic issues, published data showing that emigration to the US is falling. There has been anecdotal evidence suggesting such a change but the official figures, cited by Zenteno, which show a drop in emigration between 2000 and 2010, are the first to confirm this hypothesis.
