The World Economic Forum (WEF)’s Global Competitiveness Report 2012-2013, released on 5 September, ranked Panama 40th (of 144 countries), nine positions up since last year, continuing “its steady progress and consolidating its position as the most competitive economy in Central America”, said the WEF.
