Peña Nieto snubs the US for Latin America
As he prepares to take over from Felipe Calderón on 1 December, President-elect Enrique Peña Nieto embarked on a Latin American tour to meet some of his soon-to-be counterparts. The aim of the tour was to send a signal that while under Calderón Mexico had been focused on cultivating its key bilateral relationship with the US, Peña Nieto intends to swivel some of that focus back towards Latin America.
