En una elección extraordinaria, el 15 de octubre, el Progressive Liberal Party (PLP), liderado por el Primer Ministro Perry Christie, reafirmó su victoria electoral del 7 de mayo sobre el Free National Movement (FNM), liderado ahora por Hubert Minnis, al reclamar su triunfo en el distrito de North Abaco, retenido hasta su renuncia luego de la elección general por el ex primer ministro del FNM, Hubert Ingraham. Ahora, el PLP retiene 30 de las 38 bancas en el Parlamento.
