MEXICO | Security meeting. On 11 September representatives of almost half of Mexico's municipalities called for a security meeting with President Felipe Calderón Hinojosa. The mayors, who run the controversial and often gangster-ridden local police forces, were mostly excluded from the 21 August security summit. This involved state governors, the feds, the judiciary, and the mayor of Mexico City.
