MEXICO | New insurance and bond law. On 25 October a new law regulating the insurance and financial bond sectors prepared by the government of President Felipe Calderón formally entered Mexico’s senate for discussion. The government has explained that the new law intends to promote the “regulation of the local financial sector in order to maintain the stability and guarantee the solvency and security” of Mexico’s financial system.
