POLITICS | President Mujica bedridden for possible thrombosis. On 15 November President José Mujica of Uruguay announced he would not be travelling to Cádiz, Spain, to attend the Ibero-American Summit (16-17 November) due to a blood clot in his right leg. The presidential doctors have recommended that Mujica remains in bed for three days while he takes anticoagulant medication, fearing that the clot could cause a thrombosis. The president had a similar health issue in 2004 and recovered successfully after receiving treatment.
