On 20 February, the mayor of Bogotá , Gustavo Petro, announced he had accepted the resignation of Diego Bravo, head of the city’s aqueduct and drainage company (EAAB). Bravo has taken the bullet for the accusations of irregularities in the issuance of contracts for rubbish collection. In the thirteen months since he took office, twenty officials have quit Petro’s municipal government. Following Bravo’s resignation, Petro took to his Twitter feed. “All the changes that have taken place in my cabinet have two objectives: to strengthen the fight against corruption and deepen our capacity to deliver,” he wrote.
