During March and the first half of April, Latin America’s financial markets were largely unaffected by developments in the rest of the world such as the problems of the Cyprus government and the highly aggressive easing of monetary policy by the Bank of Japan. As we discuss elsewhere in this edition of LatinAmerican Economy & Business, economic newsflow from within the region itself was mixed, but broadly positive.
