COLOMBIA | Amid violence land restitution moves ahead. On 10 April, President Juan Manuel Santos attended the restitution to 60 families of 272 hectares of land in the northern department of Córdoba that had been wrested from them by the brothers Carlos, Fidel and Vicente Castaño, leaders of the Autdefensas Unidas de Colombia (AUC), the now demobilised umbrella body of the paramilitary organisations.
