Government and Farc agree on ‘integral’ land reform

The government of President Juan Manuel Santos and the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (Farc) guerrillas have reached agreement on the first item of their peace negotiation agenda: land. Though details were not disclosed, it has been described by the government as involving an ‘integral’ land reform. The next item on the agenda, which the two parties are scheduled to start discussing on 11 June, is the potentially thornier one of the Farc’s future participation in politics.
