URUGUAY: Cannabis regulation bill goes back to congress

President José Mujica’s bill to legalise and regulate the production and sale of cannabis, shelved last December, is being pushed again through congress in a bid to get it approved before the launch of next year’s presidential campaigns. The bill has been modified to accommodate some of the criticism it had attracted, but its passage remains a sensitive political issue.
