MEXICO | Reach for the sky! Lego will invest US$125m in expanding its plant in Ciénaga de Flores, Nuevo León, this year, creating 1,000 direct jobs and 300 indirect jobs. President Enrique Peña Nieto visited the plant with his economy minister, Ildefenso Guajardo, both men posing for a photograph alongside a Lego Woody, the main protagonist in the cartoon Toy Story, famous for catchphrases such as ‘Reach for the sky!’ Guajardo said investment in the plant, one of the biggest in the Americas, now totalled US$550m. Lego has plants in 30 countries with a global workforce of over 12,000.
