CHILE | Dragged down by copper, dollar. On 8 July Chile’s copper commission (Cochilco) announced that it was revising down its forecast for the average price of copper for the year to US$3.27 per pound (lbs), 8% less than the US$3.57/lbs forecast in its previous April report. Copper is Chile’s main export and much of its economic performance depends on what happens in international copper markets.
