Development: Heavily armed gunmen led a total of six apparently pre-planned attacks on federal police in the state of Michoacán on 23 July, leaving a toll of 22 dead (two police offiers and 20 gunmen). The attacks are being attributed to the Knights Templar, the local drug trafficking organisation.
