PARAGUAY: Two EPP ambushes claim more police casualties

With several hundred troops deployed in the departments of San Pedro, Concepción and Amambay, the guerrillas of the Ejército del Pueblo Paraguayo (EPP) have continued to strike with ambushes that have targeted the police rather than the military. The government believes that the EPP has established connections with drug traffickers in the country’s main cannabis growing areas.
