Latin America: politics and taxes

Development: On 20 January the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (Eclac) and the Inter-American Centre of Tax Administrations (Ciat) released a new report that found that as a proportion of GDP, the average tax revenue of 18 Latin American and Caribbean countries rose from 13.9% in 1990 to 20.7% in 2012.
