Development: On 16 June Deputy Felipe Ward of the conservative opposition Unión Demócrata Independiente (UDI), said that the opposition coalition, Alianza por Chile, planned to summon Interior Minister Rodrigo Peñailillo for questioning in response to a resurgence of violence in the southern Araucanía region, where the indigenous Mapuche lays claim to ancestral lands.
