MEXICO: Border queues lengthen

Mexico's new system for vehicle checking, the Sistema de Aforo Vehicular (Siave), which is being introduced in border states, has slowed cross-border traffic. Mexicans crossing into the US have become inured to the two- or three-hour queues crossing the border often entailed. Coming back used to be much quicker, but now can take just as long. Motorists and local governments blame the introduction of the Siave.
