Mexico: Insider involvement in fuel theft
The number of employees and former employees of Mexico's state oil company, Pemex, involved in the theft of fuel- mainly by tapping into pipelines- has been increasing steadily over the past four years, according to information disclosed by Pemex to local daily, 24 Horas, under freedom of information legislation: five in 2011, 11 in 2012, 15 in 2013 and 33 in 2014 ― 64 in all. Of these, 33 have been arrested and charged.
