The momentum to impeach President Dilma Rousseff has been halted, temporarily at least, by a supreme court ruling. Late in the evening of 8 December, Luis Edson Fachin announced that the entire process should be suspended until the full supreme court could rule on the legality of the proceedings thus far on 16 December.
