BRAZIL: Corruption case sours Brasí­lia's anniversary

The release from prison of the former governor of the Distrito Federal, Roberto Arruda, by the supreme court, and the court's inaction as his alleged partners in an embezzlement scheme chose a replacement for him, tarnished the 50th anniversary celebrations in Brazil's capital city of Brasí­lia last week.
