Martelly insistent that Haiti vote will take place
Development: On 19 January Haiti’s President Michel Martelly insisted that the 24 January second-round presidential run-off between Jude Célestin, the presidential candidate of the opposition Ligue Alternative pour le Progrès et l’Emancipation Haïtienne (Lapeh) party, and Jovenel Moïse, of Martelly’s Parti Haïtien Têt Kalé (PHTK), would go ahead as planned.
