HONDURAS: Lobo launches truth commission

President Porfirio Lobo presided over a ceremony on 4 May inaugurating a truth commission to investigate events before, during and after the coup which toppled Manuel Zelaya last June. Domestically, the Frente de Resistencia, which supported Zelaya, organised several well-attended marches to coincide with Labour Day to protest against the commission. Internationally, the US is at odds with most of South America over allowing Honduras back into the Organization of American States (OAS).
