An exhausted model

One way of explaining the last two decades, and the challenge faced by the new government, is to say that there has been a long argument, much of which has been conducted inside the Peronist movement, over the appropriate economic model for Argentina. Two rival models, each lasting for around a decade, have been tested by different administrations to just beyond, or just before, the point of destruction.
