ECUADOR | Remittances. Remittances crept up by a paltry 0.4% in the first quarter of 2010 to US$557m, according to the central bank. They fell by 17.6%, however, on the final quarter of 2009. The main source of remittances was the US, which accounted for 45% of the total sum (US$248m) and Spain, with 40% (US$220m).
