Eastern Caribbean states forge Economic Union

Six member states of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) signed an agreement in Castries, St Lucia, on 18 June creating an Economic Union. The leaders of Antigua & Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia and St Vincent and the Grenadines marked the 29th anniversary of the signature of the founding treaty of the OECS by opting for “a single economic and financial space" to deepen the integration of the sub-region.
