The state-owned oil firm, Pemex, has reported that conditions were now in place to safely restart operations at its Salina Cruz refinery located in the southern state of Oaxaca. Heavy rains caused by the passage of Tropical Storm ‘Calvin’ had prompted Pemex to suspend all operations and evacuate personnel at the refinery earlier in the day. The refinery has the capacity to process 330,000 barrels of oil a day. Pemex also announced that everyone in the refinery was safe.
