Morales takes on familiar foe

Following last week's tirade against the US, Bolivia's President Evo Morales has revived tensions with another familiar opponent - the Roman Catholic Church. Triggered by a statement released by the Bolivian Episcopal conference (CEB) on 16 November, which raised concerns about inflation, extreme poverty, the lack of democracy, environmental degradation and drug-trafficking, the latest spat serves as the most recent reminder of continuing tensions between Church and State under Morales.
