HAITI: Moïse under pressure over minimum wage demands

President Jovenel Moïse has been facing unrest for more than two months over minimum wage-related demands, following his May announcement of a rise in fuel prices of up to 20%. With unions such as the Coordination Nationale des Ouvriers Haïtiens (Cnoh) staging regular protests in the capital, Port-au-Prince, calling for a minimum daily wage of G800 (US$11.9), and textiles companies threatening to leave the country if the unrest is not quelled, President Moïse is under growing pressure to find a solution.
